Which Vampire Cast Makes Your Blood Pump?

Vampires

Vampires SuckTwilight, and True Blood all have a gorgeous lineup of vampires, werewolves and their human admirers. Which cast gets your blood pumping?

Vampires can’t resist the smell of fresh human blood, just like Hollywood studios can’t resist the temptation of easy money. And if there’s one lesson Hollywood has learned from Twilight, it’s that a compelling plot and character development don’t matter as long as you have a smoking hot cast. Why bother with interesting dialogue when you can just have Robert Pattinson look into the camera and smolder? Who needs plot development when you have Taylor Lautner‘s abs?

The newest vampire movie on the block comes from the guy’s behind the Scary Movie franchise. Vampires Suck calls out the Twilight phenomenon, and the comedy has just the right amount of eye candy to do it. So just how well does the Vampires Suck cast compare to the people they’re spoofing?  Tell us who makes your heart pump blood!

Hottie Matt Lanter (90210, Sorority Row) plays Edward. He might not have the perfectly coifed hair of Robert Pattinson, but he has a face that belongs on screen. It’s too bad he has to wear so much white makeup.

Chris Riggi (Gossip Girl) plays Jacob White, and while Riggi might not inspire the same hormone-fueled insanity as Taylor Lautner, his abs look just as toned. One question, if Riggi and Lautner play werewolves, why do they always look freshly waxed in human form? You’d think they’d have at least a sprinkling of chest hair!

No vampire story would be complete without a vampire groupie, a girl with a thing for undead male-model types. Twilight has Kristen Stewart, who would be hotter if she learned how to smile. Fans have always been split on Kristen Stewart’s rightful place on the hotness scale. To be honest, she has pretty average looks for a big Hollywood star. Her counterpart in Vampires Suck, Jenn Proske, looks undeniably more feminine than Stewart.

Anneliese van der Pol, who played Chelsea Daniels on That’s So Raven, stars as another mortal. Your boyfriend has to have something to distract him from the gratuitous werewolf abs.Twilight has Ashley Greene (sorry Kristen, but it’s true); in Vampires Suck, it’s Anneliese van der Pol.

Of course all these young actors have serious competition. In True Blood, it’s Anna Paquinand Alexander Skarsgard. Robert Pattinson may be a teen sex symbol, but Alexander Skarsgard is a full-grown man. In the same vein, The Vampire Diaries has a seriously good looking cast. Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrevand Paul Wesley might not have a massive following like the Twilight stars, but they certainly have the looks.

So which vampire franchise has the hottest cast? Do any of these actors get your blood pumping like Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner? Which Vampire groupie (Stewart, Paquin, Proske) would you pick to spend eternity with?

Jenn Proske on being a Twilight fan and Vampires Suck

Interview with Vampires Suck Star Jenn Proske

Jennifer Proske is playing the character that spoofs Bella and Kristen Stewart in the movie Vampires Suck. Reelz Channel talked with the new to the industry actress.

A relative newcomer to Hollywood, Jenn Proske has started her career off with a bang, playing “Becca Crane” in the new Twilight Saga parody Vampires Suck. The 23-year-old Boston University graduate beat out hundreds of other actresses vying for the caricature of Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart), who has become a recognizable face among fans of Stephenie Meyer’s worldwide phenomenon. We recently talked with Proske about her love of Twilight, fan reactions to the Vampires Suck parody, and how she managed to channel Stewart’s famous portrayal.

RC: From what we’ve seen in the trailer, you’ve done a great job in Vampires Suck.

Proske: Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

RC: So tell us, how did you get the part of Becca in Vampires Suck?

Proske: I graduated from Boston University in May of 2009 and moved to LA in late October to pursue acting. I started auditioning full-time and about four months in, I had this crazy week that was jam-packed full of auditions. The very last one was for Vampires Suck. I had been called in for the role of Iris (the Alice Cullen character), and I knew I wasn’t quite right for it, but I gave it my best. Two weeks later, I got called back in, but for the Becca role instead. I had to go in about seven more times after that, and then I booked the movie late on Friday night and flew out to Louisiana the following Tuesday to start shooting. My life literally changed and turned upside down within four days, it’s incredible! I feel so lucky…”

‘Vampires Suck’ Star Jenn Proske Says Poking Fun at ‘Twilight’ Is a Form of Flattery

It often takes aspiring actors years before they get a starring role in a movie after making the big move to Los Angeles. But Jenn Proske, who graduated from Boston University last year, moved to Hollywood and found her dream role in no time. She says landing the lead as Becca Crane in “Vampires Suck” is like “winning the lottery as an actor.”

“Vampires Suck” is a spoof on the ridiculously popular “Twilight” saga written by Stephanie Meyer. But Jenn, who was a fan of the books and the movies before being cast, isn’t trying to make enemies in Hollywood by making fun of the pop culture phenomenon that is vampires –  she thinks it’s a form of flattery.

Here’s what the young actress has to say about her film that hits theaters on August 18:

How did you prepare for the role?

I had to watch the original “Twilight” just to get the overall story and to understand everyone and all the characters so I’ve watched “Twilight” and “New Moon” hundreds of times. I’m a huge fan of the movies so I had a great time watching them over and over again.

Were you a Twihard before being cast?

I had seen both the movies before I got cast. I was a fan of the books and the movies. I think “Twilight” is great. It’s such an amazing thing that everyone has created. Vampires are something exciting and sexy and fun to a lot of people, [including me.]

Your character, Becca Crane, is eerily similar to Kristen Stewart’s, Bella Swan. Did you intend to do that?

I didn’t want it to be an imitation of Kristen [Stewart]. I worked with the directors to find a balance [between] my own self as an actor and Kristen’s mannerisms and vocal patterns so that it was recognizable.

Will the cast of “Twilight” love it or hate it?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I really feel that this is something that they will love and be able to laugh at as well. It’s definitely not a bashing of “Twilight,” it’s something that’s definitely done out of love and inspiration from the phenomenon.

On the new Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner…

I think both of our guys are going to give Taylor and Rob a run for their money. I think Matt [Lanter] is going to give Rob Pattinson a run for his money. Chris [Riggi] looks great as a werewolf too. He has worked so hard to look as amazing as he does.

Will you get hate mail from Twihards?

This movie is something that both Twihards and the people who don’t like “Twilight” can find something that they love about it. I think the” Twilight” fans are going to get every single joke and little reference. I think the “Twilight” haters can find something to laugh at and enjoy seeing how much this vampire pop culture phenomenon has truly been used.

Finally, Team Edward or Team Jacob?

I’m Team Edward. Tell Chris Riggi I’m sorry
