Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has nabbed North American rights to helmer Matthew Parkhill’s supernatural ghost story “The Caller.”
Sale for the pic, which preemed at last month’s European Film Market in Berlin, was handled by London-based Bankside Films.
The film centers on a troubled divorcee who gets mysterious phone calls from an unknown caller, who appears to be calling from the past.
The pic, scripted by Sergio Casci, stars Rachelle Lefevre, Stephen Moyer, Lorna Raver, and Luis Guzman.
It was backed by Puerto Rico’s Pimienta Film Co. and the Puerto Rican Film Commission, London’s The Salt Co. and Alcove Entertainment plus Bankside.
