The Bloggers right: RESPECT

Over the past week  Twilight Lexicon and Twilight Poison posted something that is very important for us bloggers, and that is the issue that a lot of fansites have encountered with the copy/paste. And I wanted to point out a few things on my own in this subject. There are really bad habits within our community because some people are so lazy that they can’t write stuff on their own even though is their blog, they prefer to have someone else’s thoughts than their own just to do things quickly and try to make a name for themselves but guess what? It is not working!!! By doing this you are only gaining enemies and making a fool out of yourselves.

It’s ok to look for information on other sites but DON’T TAKE THEIR WHOLE STORY it takes time to write stories and edit information so be fair, take info but add a personal touch that way you can actually feel good about doing a story and calling it yours.WHAT DOES IT COST TO CITE THE SOURCE WITH A NAME AND ACTIVE LINK?! It won’t cut your finger off it will only make things better and it will make you look good not only with the source you are taking the news from but with everyone else in the fandom because at least you are being honest and are not taking the credit for something that you didn’t do, in the end is the right thing to do.  Most of the time people visit a website looking for some news to post on their blog and then they go to the original source but guess what? They don’t give credit to the site in where they found it from,  this is  definitely not cool!

If you find something other than direct contact from the source, stumbling on it via visiting the main source, via their Twitter, or via a Google Alert that leads directly to that site, GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO THE PERSON WHO TIPPED YOU OFF. So if a fan saw it and tipped you off, give them a “Thanks” at the end of your post. If you saw it on another site, either say “Thanks to name of site” or “Via name of site” at the end of your article. It’s not technically mandatory, but it’s a good way of being nice to the neighbors and you never know when you might need them for something! It takes and extra 30 seconds and it’s well worth the effort.

Using photos is great because personally i hate doing posts without pictures but DON’T TAKE THE WHOLE GALLERY AND PUT IT ON YOUR POST instead take a couple of pictures and link back.  EXCLUSIVES ARE THAT, EXCLUSIVES so if you feel like using another site’s exclusive material ASK FIRST that way you are respecting the site Administrators and their work. Copyrighted material like pictures, videos or text IS DEFINITELY OFF LIMITS of course unless you are willing to go to jail, pay some fine or simply have your website shut down either way IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! So just be careful what you post on your post because it can either make you or break you, I’ve seen it happen and trust me it is not pretty when it breaks you and your credibility as a fansite owner.

People the key to having a friendly atmosphere among all the fandom is to be fair and do the right thing.  By doing this you are assured to have the respect of your fellow Twilight Fan Sites and you will have a lot of credibility and who knows  if you can get exclusives of your own! You want to make friends because you never know when it can be really useful to have friends in high places you don’t want to make enemies because the most powerful thing is the word of mouth and enemies can tear you to shreds when it comes to talking!!

I KNOW HOW HARD IT CAN BE TO GET YOUR SITE NOTICED AMONG ALL THE AWESOME SITES THERE ARE BUT STEALING CONTENT AND MAKING IT YOUR OWN WITHOUT DOING THOSE SIMPLE THINGS IT WILL DEFINITELY GET YOU NOTICED BUT NOT FOR THE REASONS YOU WANT TO. IF YOU WANT TO IMPRESS AND MAKE A NAME FOR YOURSELF DO IT THE RIGHT WAY BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHO IS WATCHING.

Kellan Lutz: I Don’t Want to Be “a Piece of Meat” My Entire Career

VIA  USMagazine

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz holds no illusions about the nature of his stardom. “Producers and studios know what sells,” the impressively fit actor told UsMagazine.comduring a Monday phone interview. “It’s nice to be one of the guys that can help sell a movie by taking his shirt off.”

Lutz, 25, recently topped Men’s Health magazine’s inaugural list of Best Summer Bodies — beating out such six-packed studs as Matthew McConaugheyTwilightcostar Taylor Lautner, Zac Efron and others.

Still, Lutz told Us, “By no means do I want to be a piece of meat for the rest of my career. It’s funny when you get asked to do a talk show, and then they follow it up with requesting you take your shirt off.”

The star called Us from New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina; working with charity the St. Bernard Project, Lutz helped build five houses in seven days for the still-recovering city.

“We were working around the clock at 50 hours at a time in different shifts,” Lutz marveled. “We got it done just in time. We had so many people come out and lend a helping hand. It was so touching.

C’MON KELLAN YOU ARE VERY HOT INDEED AND MANY PEOPLE MAY SEE YOU AS JUST THAT, A PIECE OF MEAT BUT US AT THE TWILIGHT FANDOM DON’T!! WE ALL KNOW HOW GIVING AND AMAZING YOU ARE WHEN IT COMES TO CHARITY, AND WE ALSO KNOW  YOU ALWAYS SAY YES WHEN YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!  SO FOR ALL YOU DO THANKS FOR MAKING THE TWILIGHT WORLD NOT ONLY LOOK GOOD BUT ALSO BE A HELPING HAND TO THOSE IN NEED!

End of Summer Movies Poll: Vote for the Best Films!

Summer is winding down, and as we prepare for the fall movie season, we’re taking one last look at the past three months at the theater.

Some have argued that this was the worst summer movie season in years, but with the mind-blowing ‘Inception,’ the Jacob-Bella-Edward love triangle in ‘Eclipse’ and the uber-success of ‘Toy Story 3,’ there were still a number of quality flicks for everyone to choose from.

But which films came out on top? Have your say in our official end of summer movies poll.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Casting News: Rami Malek To Play Benjamin

The rumormill has been churning for months, speculating on just who will be joining the highly anticipated two-part finale of “The Twilight Saga” (remember those Lee Pace whisperings?). Well today, courtesy of ET Online, we have confirmation of one new “Breaking Dawn” face: “The Pacific” star Rami Malek. Rami will be playing vampire Benjamin, and, unsurprisingly, he’s super-psyched to be joining the franchise. “I think it’s going to be great,” he told ET. “It’s going to be super-exciting, and I’m thrilled.”

You’ll recall from the novel that Benjamin is a member of the Egyptian coven summoned by Carlisle to help battle the Volturi at the end of “Breaking Dawn.” Benjamin’s special vamp ability is controlling the elements, though he has yet to fully master his powers. He’s described as a young-looking vampire with dark hair and olive skin.

Rami looks to be a great fit for this role. Though he’s nearly 30 (29, to be exact), he oozes a boyish presence, and he certainly has the olive complexion and dark hair necessary to pull off the role physically. Plus, did we mention he has experience playing an ancient Egyptian in the “Night at the Museum” flicks?

What do you think about Rami being cast in the role of Benjamin in “Breaking Dawn”? Can any of you “Pacific” fans attest to his acting chops?

Kristen Stewart Is Bruised In EXCLUSIVE ‘Welcome To The Rileys’ Stills

With autumn quickly approaching, we’re gearing up for warm wool sweaters, copious cups of cocoa and, perhaps most importantly, some seriously great film releases. All week long we’ll be rolling out exclusive clips, photos and interviews as part of our Fall Movie Preview Week 2010, so stay tuned!

Today, we got our hands on three pics from a movie we’ve been talking about forever (well, maybe more like nine months or so): Kristen Stewart‘s gritty film “Welcome to the Rileys.” Kristen plays runaway teen prostitute Mallory, who’s taken in by James Gandolfini to help him ease the pain of his own daughter’s death.

In the above pic, Kristen is examining her bruised face after what we can only assume was some kind of fight/beating. Peeking in on her is Melissa Leo who plays James’ wife, Lois, in the film.

When we caught up with Kristen earlier this year to discuss the role, she said she had never “felt so personally involved in something” as she did with “Welcome to the Rileys,” adding that making the movie definitely changed her life. “I think I’m just a little bit more sensitive,” she said. “I’m so, if you looked at a girl wrong now, I would fly across the room and kill you.” Wow, watch out for KStew!

Exclusive ‘Archie & Friends’ #147 ‘Twilite’ Part 2 Preview

Earlier this month we brought you an exclusive preview of “Archie & Friends” #146, in which Archie and the Riverdale gang encounter a brooding vampire, a shirt-adverse werewolf, and a host of other characters inspired by the wildly popular “Twilight” franchise.

The first half of Archie Comics’ “Twilight” parody, “Archie & Friends: Twilite” concludes next week with “Archie & Friends” #147 — and we have an exclusive preview of the issue for Splash Page readers. The issue hits comic shop shelves September 8, and promises a “larger-than-life conclusion” to the tale.

Will Veronica choose Archie over Ivan, the handsome, pale-skinned new guy in school who might be a vampire? Is Jughead Team Ivan or Team Archie? All these questions and more will be answered in the pages of “Archie & Friends” #147!

Battle of the Beards: Robert Pattinson vs. Jake Gyllenhaal

Today in scruff: Both Robert Pattinson and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted sporting new beards over the weekend.

R-Patz flashed his hairy situation at Jimmy Fallon’s post-Emmy party at West Hollywood lounge Trousdale on Sunday, one day after Jake was photographed with new facial fuzziness, which is reportedly for a role in the film Born to Run (about long-distance running uber-athletes.)
