New, New Moon Still: Bella and Edward

Gorgeous!!!

Taylor’s Photo Shoot

from The Insider

’Twilight”s hunky Taylor Lautner is the cover boy for the “Young Hollywood”-themed October issue of Teen Vogue — and “The Insider” takes you behind the scenes of the sizzling photo shoot!

Lautner, best known as werewolf Jacob Black, shot his magazine layout with famed photographer Bruce Weber and got the chance to dress up in a really spiffy suit, plunge into a pool and get soaking wet, and drive a cool ’71 convertible with four gorgeous gals as passengers.

“To be on the cover is such an honor,” he says, crediting ‘Twilight’ for his success.

“The way I like to think of the ‘Twilight’ saga is that ‘Twilight’ develops Edward and Bella’s relationship, and then in ‘New Moon,’ her lover Edward leaves at the beginning and she turns to her best friend Jacob Black and they start developing their relationship … and sometimes you wonder if they are more than friends.”

But the 17-year-old star, who cites Denzel Washington as one of his favorite actors, has plans for his career beyond the ‘Twilight’ saga.

“I love the action dramas that Brad Pitt and Matt Damon do,” he says. “The cool thing about being an actor is we get to challenge ourselves to so many different roles and play so many different characters. I would love to play a werewolf, do an action drama and then a comedy after that.”

For more of Lautner’s interview, pick up the October issue of Teen Vogue on newsstands Sept. 8. Then catch ‘New Moon’ when it sinks its fangs into theaters on November 20.

World Premiere Video of “By You” by The Mitch Hansen Band

FORKS, Washington — He’s arguably the most talented and popular of a collection of musicians who compose songs about Stephenie Meyer’s vivid “Twilight” universe. Yet, if you’ve only seen the “Twilight” movie, you may not be aware of Mitch Hansen. He’s hoping all that will soon change.

“It’s called ‘By You,’ ” the affable frontman of the Mitch Hansen Band told MTV News of his latest song and video, which he’s premiering with us and hoping to get onto the upcoming “New Moon” soundtrack. “It’s essentially from Bella’s perspective, and it’s kind of a very edgy rock-type song. It’s about ‘New Moon’ through her eyes, all that pain she felt. Then at the end it resolves — in a more happy place, I should say. It’s a very emotional song.”

Although “Twilight”-themed bands like the Bella Cullen Project, the Twilight Music Girls and the Mitch Hansen Band have become enormously popular with the fanbase since the saga’s pop-culture explosion — and improved dramatically as musicians while playing songs to ever-increasing crowds — the folks behind the “Twilight” movies have continued to largely ignore them. As impressive as arena-rockers like Paramore, Linkin Park and Thom Yorke may be, a vocal segment of the fanbase is hoping Summit will finally give a big break to a Twi-band and incorporate a song with lyrics about the tale of Edward and Bella into “New Moon.”

“It’s a strong song, and we’ve been pitching it for the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack,” Hansen said of “By You,” which chronicles the sort of emotional pain that Kristen Stewart recently said her character will go through in the November film. “We think it would be a good addition.”

As for the exact moment in “New Moon” where his song could be appropriate, Hansen told us that he’d love to hear it playing during the pivotal cliff-diving scene. “I think that would be a good spot for it because in my mind, that seems really emotional,” explained the rocker, who was inspired to begin composing “Twilight” tunes in 2007 after reading all the books in a week. “[Bella thinks she has] these voices in my head: ‘I’ve gotta do something about it. OK, I’ll jump off this cliff.’ I think that would be a good song for it, definitely.”

As Mitch and his band continue to play to packed crowds at events like Twi-Con and Summer School in Forks, always courteously signing autographs and posing for hundreds of photos, many of the Twilighters who speak with him share their hopes to someday hear a Mitch Hansen Band song in a “Twilight” movie. “Oh my gosh, it’d be ridiculous,” he said of the dream. “It would be huge. I mean, there’s not much better, not much bigger of an opportunity right now that we could think of.”

Vampires, werewolves, liars lead fall film cast

In this film publicity image released by Summit Entertainment, Kristen Stewart, left, and Taylor Lautner are shown in a scene from, "The Twilight Saga

Vampires, werewolves, liars lead fall film cast

Hollywood might be telling its own life story this fall, presenting a lineup of liars, phonies, smooth talkers, bloodsuckers and greedy old men.

Granted, there are heroes in the mix, including Robert Downey Jr. as the great detective in “Sherlock Holmes” and Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela in Clint Eastwood’s post-apartheid drama “Invictus.”

Beloved literature and storybook adventures come to the screen with Maurice Sendak’s children’s classic “Where the Wild Things Are,” Disney’s animated fairy tale “The Princess and the Frog” and “Lord of the Rings” filmmaker Peter Jackson’s adaptation of modern favorite “The Lovely Bones.”

And audiences will be reunited with absent friends, among them director James Cameron on the sci-fi epic “Avatar,” his first narrative film since “Titanic,” and Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their plaything pals as 3-D versions of “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2″ hit theaters.

Still, rascals, rogues, beasts and baddies abound. Vampires and werewolves form opposing cliques in the season’s supernatural heavyweight, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” with Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson back for the second chapter of Stephenie Meyer’s vamp-schoolgirl romance.

The vampire-werewolf feud makes for a nice exploration of our own psyches, said “New Moon” director Chris Weitz.

“I suppose they’re the two most relatable human monsters that we can think of. They nicely encapsulate restraint and passion,” Weitz said. “Vampires are cold-blooded, literally, and werewolves are hot-blooded.”

Peter and Sarah Clarke Arrive at vancouver!

Arriving at Vancouver airport yesterday – Peter Facinelli returning from Portland where he attended a charity event and Sarah Clarke who plays “Bella’s” mother, both in great spirits in anticipation for a busy week ahead on Eclipse.

Also this weekend – Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser, work out partners, continue to adhere to their training schedule. I’m adhering to my training schedule too. It’s the eating schedule that’s a problem.

Nikki and Elizabeth opted for protein shakes.

I opt for bbq pork and fried rice.

And a new installment of Twi-Hard hatemail. Lately it’s been boring – just the usual “f-ck you bitch, whore, c-nt, hate you SooooooooSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” rants without the creativity.

Tonya, thankfully, sent this in on Friday.

Hi Lainey,

I am embarrassed for the people who with obscenities and swears. Most Twilight fans are not like that and it’s not fair for you to depict all of us as crazed teenagers. I am a grown woman of 32 and happily married. My husband and I enjoy Twilight together and we have been inspired by Bella and Edward’s love but I do not stalk the actors and act silly like the people you describe.

I just want to give you some advice. You have a way with words and sometimes I do laugh but you are very vulgar with your language and the swears. This is not attractive in a woman and men do not find it attractive at all. You say you are married. Marriage is about compromise and hard work. I don’t think your husband will like the way you talk with all your swears. A man can’t take so much vulgarity in a woman. It is not sexy. You should think about it before it’s too late.

Good luck to you Lainey.

PS. “Swears”, the noun, is now my new favourite word.

Unlock your inner vampire vocabulary – Defining Twilight

      Defining Twilight by: Brian Leaf

It seems as though the fascination with vampires has actually inspired a remarkable technique for learning. Brian Leaf has compiled 600 vocabulary words taken from Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight book to help master standardized tests. Although the book cover states that it is a vocabulary workbook for unlocking the SAT, ACT, GED, and SSAT, it can be very helpful to anyone who wants to improve their vocabulary skills.

Defining Twilight is an ingenious way to capture the attention of anyone who is interested in the Twilight saga. Using the Defining Twilight book in conjunction with a copy of Twilight, one can become very well versed in new terminology. Brian follows Defining Twilight withDefining New Moon which will be released in October. If you are in the minority and have not read the Twilight saga, then you should start reading and grab your copies of Defining Twilight and Defining New Moon to go along with it to improve your vocabulary skills. Who knows when knowing the color ocher might come in handy?

So, unlock your inner vampire and learn the meanings of words that Edward and other Twilight vampires have used. If you do, when you read Twilight again you might just understand it a little more.

Robert & Kristen’s Hookups: Do Not Disturb

While the rest of the Eclipse cast is in Vancouver filming, it sounds like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart spend their days snuggled up in Rob’s hotel room exploring, um, each other’s bods and maybe the WUWU talk: What’s up with us? Love Buzz: How To Ace The “What Are We?” Talk

Limelife reported this weekend that Rob, 23, and Kristen, 19, have been holed up in Robert’s Sheraton suite taking their relationship to the “next level.” The rest of the cast is checked in at a different hotel but Rob needs his privacy—especially when Kristen’s there. A source says they rarely come up for air and constantly keep a sign on the door that reads “Do Not Disturb.”

The images of lust are enough to drive an American girl mad, but don’t worry: they’re still only friends with bens. Showbiz Spy reports Kristen as saying that while she and Robert rely heavily on each other emotionally, the public has been too quick to conclude that they’re a thing. “Robert and I are great friends but I understand why you would assume that, when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more,” Kristen said, then she went on to almost confirm the observations: “And I’m not criticizing anyone for thinking it either. If anything, they’re really perceptive because they can see a closeness.” Celebrity Love: 5 Kristen Stewart Traits That Robert And All Men Love

A source close to them says they’re more comfortable about being seen together publicly, but despite our observations, they’re just hooking up: “They’ve decided to be more public about going out now. They’re not boyfriend and girlfriend, but they’ve definitely hooked up.”

Rumors suggest that there maybe be a sexy scene between them in Eclipse…but by the time it hits theaters, we’ll be on to some other Anglo-American obsession… Celebrity Love: Top 10 British Celebrity Crushes

‘Twlight’ Director Originally Wanted ‘Long, Romantic Hair’ fo Rpattz

Throughout the weekend, Twilighters from all over are gathering in Parsippany, New Jersey, where the first of what is sure to be many Summit/Creation Entertainment co-sponsored fan conventions is happening. Among the gathered celeb attendees is “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke, who is currently juggling a quartet of follow-up projects: “Hamlet,” starring Emile Hirsch, “The Girl With the Red Riding Hood,” for Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Appian Way shingle, “If I Stay,” and “Maximum Ride.”

Hardwicke’s shifted focus away from Stephenie Meyer’s teen vampires didn’t stop her from sharing some behind-the-scenes facts yesterday during a Q&A. Fans probably weren’t surprised that the director had to get creative in stretching “Twilight”‘s budget to do what she wanted. The big shock of the day was the original vision of Robert Pattinson‘s Edward Cullen, which included a head of long, flowing locks.

“I thought it would be cool if Rob had long, romantic hair,” Hardwicke told the gathered attendees. “So we put extensions on Rob and he just hated it. He sat there in the chair for eight hours and was like, ‘No.’”

That’s an amusing image, I have to say. Pattinson sitting there very patiently for hours upon hours, then turning to the makeup folks and telling them “No” in his very British way. Or do you think maybe he lapsed into Edward mode, fixing them with his steely-eyed stare and whispering no, only to abruptly turn around and stalk away?
